Marcia “Denrique” Preudhomme born in San Fernando, Trinidad, now resides in Washington DC.  Since her time as a lanky little catholic school girl, in a green and white uniform, Denrique’s studies and interests have ranged from art to dance/theater, architecture to stage management, interior design to writing.

Despite graduating from high school with a certificate in creative arts as her initial effort to explore her creative and artistic abilities, Denrique—still searching for her niche—graduated from the San Fernando Technical Institute in Trinidad where she studied architectural technology. Later, she decided to broaden the scope of her artistic knowledge by earning a certificate in stage management from the University of the West Indies, also in Trinidad. She has also studied architecture with some emphasis on interior design as well as creative writing in the U.S.A. Denrique hopes to one day combine both disciplines to become a writer who will specialize in architectural writing and critiquing.

With her background in architecture, Denrique embarked on a career as a draftsman, but then discovered she’d lost her passion for architecture. She has, however, continued—for almost two decades—to explore her passion for creative writing. Denrique has published a collection of short fiction, Stranger Than Fiction, a collection of poetry, Reflections of Realism, and completed a booklet of poems, The Heart of Truth. She is the recipient of the 2006 Urban Spectrum Newspaper National Black Writer Awards for Stranger Than Fiction, National Best Collection of Short Stories by a Black Writer. Denrique is profiled in the 59^th Edition of Who’s Who in America® ~2005, a biographical directory published by Marquis Who’s Who®, the leading biographical reference publisher of the highest achievers and contributors from across the country and around the world.  She is currently finishing her first novel, Deception is Reality, a thriller that is sure to captivate readers.

An avid reader, Denrique divides her time between New York and Washington DC.
